Artist Bio

Hao Dong is an artist and designer currently studying Animation & Games at the University of Texas at Dallas. His practice spans character, environment, prop, and vehicle design, explored through both digital tools like Photoshop, Maya, and Unreal Engine, and traditional media, including watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, and micron pen.

His recent project, Raven’s Hollow, imagines a post-apocalyptic salt town where crows are trained as companions and resources. For this concept, Hao developed characters, costumes, props, vehicles, environments, UI, and even a custom controller prototype. He also creates storyboards, turntables, and 2D frame-by-frame animation to support worldbuilding and visual storytelling.

Hao’s work emphasizes narrative depth and detail, drawing influence from speculative fiction and cinematic design. Beyond his art, Hao has co-founded small businesses, experiences that strengthened his collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills, and qualities he brings into every creative project.
